Dr. Stefan Patrick Gauci is the Head of Business Advisory within the Integritas Group and forms part of the business development team, assisting the Board of Directors in the development of new business leads and opportunities.
Stefan rejoined Integritas Group in 2020. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta (2003) after submitting his thesis entitled “The Relationship between the Taxpayer and the Commissioner of Inland Revenue under the Income Tax Acts. That same year, Stefan was awarded the degree of Master of Laws in International Maritime Law from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (2003) after submitting his dissertation entitled “The Ship’s Right to Reconvention”, for which Stefan was also awarded the Prize for Best Dissertation. Stefan is also in possession of a Diploma in Tax awarded by the Malta Institute of Taxation (2006). He was admitted to the Maltese Bar in 2004.
Being a lawyer by profession, Stefan spent the first few years as a private litigator in the civil, commercial and criminal fields before then moving into trusteeship, fiduciary and corporate services. He has been an approved person by the Malta Financial Services Authority since 2005 and has served as Director, Company Secretary, MLRO and Compliance Officer of different regulated entities that he has been involved in throughout the past 15 years.
Maltese and English are Stefan’s mother tongues and he is also very fluent in Italian.
Stefan is a member of the Maltese Chamber of Advocates, the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners, the Malta Institute of Taxation (fellowship), the Malta Institute of Management, the Malta Maritime Law Association, the Malta Association of Compliance Officers, the International Compliance Association and the Malta Union of Teachers.
Over the years, Stefan has been a contributor in a number of legal publications. Furthermore, Stefan has since 2014 been an assistant visiting lecturer and examiner at the University of Malta.
