Air Malta will start operating a weekly direct flight to Ukraine’s capital city – Kiev. The service will start on the 19thJune. This new service was announced during a state visit to the Ukrainian capital by the President of Malta, Marie-Louise ColeiroPreca, last October.Visa free travel to both Ukrainians and Maltese visitors will be granted.
“The presence in Ukraine of a strong and diverse trade delegation from Malta shows just how determined the Maltese authorities and businesses are to pursue closer collaboration between our authorities and business communities, to ensure that we grow and prosper together,” President Coleiro Preca said.
Air Malta’s Chief Commercial Officer - Paul Sies, stated, "Kiev is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Europe. Through the introduction of this route we are now increasing our services to Eastern Europe and in the process we are consolidating our position in this region. We shall be tapping into a new market which will stimulate more passenger traffic between both countries. This announcement is another achievement and further good news from Air Malta that is continuing to expand for the benefit of the local tourism industry and the population of the islands who now have more opportunities to discover new destinations.”
